Are you ready to make 2024 your best year ever by planning some epic trips, activities and adventures? We sure are! At Flip Insurance, we love getting out with family and friends to enjoy life’s best moments. Whether it’s biking, hiking, skiing, surfing or diving that gets your heart pumping, we’re all for it. We believe life is for living, and we want to inspire you to make 2024 your most active and fun year yet.

Planning a trip or activity is good for you.

Did you know that having something to look forward to can make a massive difference to your mood, motivation, and wellbeing?

A study published in Psychological Science showed that people get more happiness from anticipating an upcoming experience than a material item. That means in theory you (and maybe your kids!) should get more value from looking forward to a holiday than the promise of material things, like new tech devices or fancy shoes. It’s worth a try, right?

Start planning your trips and activities so your 2024 is full of anticipation, activity and adventure for you and your family.

Inspo and ideas for an active 2024.

Here are some activity ideas to get your mind ticking over:

Plan a holiday to remember.

We think lounging in sun chairs is overrated. What about biking or hiking in Thredbo for Easter? A ski trip to Japan? Learning to dive in Fiji? Surfing in Bali? We practice what we preach here at Flip, and this is what our team are looking forward to in 2024:

Gabi:
I've been super inspired by the Australian Open, so I've signed up for tennis lessons!
Hannah:
A friend of mine has taken up skipping and she does these really cool routines! I’m determined to get on the rope, get fitter and have some fun.
Jamie:
I’m focusing on pilates this year to restore my core after pregnancy. Hopefully travel in 2025.
Sofia:
I want to get my kids to do a scuba diving course and have a dive holiday in Fiji.
Zac:
I want to go skiing in New Zealand to show my daughter some snow action for the first time!
Kat:
I’m planning an Indonesia trip later in the year and want to do a water activity like kayaking.
Leo:
I plan to do lots of surfing after overcoming an injury last year. I’m aiming for an Indonesian trip late in the year, and an overdue family trip to the UK.
Joel:
Japan is number one on my list. I want to do some serious powder skiing and eat loads of sushi.

Step out of your comfort zone.

Now is the perfect time to challenge yourself to try something new. Maybe you’ve always wanted to run a marathon, do the Noosa Tri or take up fencing. Perhaps you’ve dreamt oflearning how to sail, flying a plane or bungee jumping. Or are you curious about yoga or tai chi? Whatever it is, make this the year you do it.

Inspire your family and friends to be active and adventurous.

This could be the year your kids get off their screens and sign up and experience the benefits of team sports. Or maybe it’s the year they learn a valuable skill, like swimming, cycling or first aid.

Why not try something completely new with your family, friends or work colleagues, like rock climbing, martial arts or skateboarding? Encouraging the people around you to be more active will have huge benefits as you connect and enjoy being active together.

Enjoy life’s simple adventures.

You don’t have to do something extreme or expensive to be active. You can keep it simple and enjoy the little things, like walking the dog, building sandcastles with your kids, gardening, dancing or swimming. The important thing is to have fun, stay healthy and enjoy being active.

Get protection for your most active days.

We want to be right there with you as you enjoy life in 2024. While you’re busy planning, don’t forget that being adventurous and trying new things can lead to injury. It’s an inevitable part of an active lifestyle, and can teach your kids valuable lessons while they’re growing up. Just take a moment to check out Flip’s three accidental injury insurance products to see if they’re right for you.

Flip Kids covers your kids aged 5-17 for eligible accidental injuries while they’re playing sports, riding bikes or having fun outdoors.

Flip Active covers you for eligible accidental injuries while you’re doing (almost) any physical activity, from running to rock climbing.
